Date & Time:

Abstract:

This workshop will be presented by Susan Staffin Metz and Jane Zimmer Daniels. We are requesting 1-1/2 hours. The last 1/2 hour will focus on proposal writing for less experienced program directors. Interest in inceasing the participation of females in engineering and science is at an all time high in the U.S. However, funding to develop new programs and to sustain established programs continues to be a challenge. This workshop will take a multi-pronged approach to assist participants to obtain the funds and resources they need to continue to maintain, develop and expand university-based women in engineering programs. Presenters will address strategies to increase institutional fundng, corporate sponsorship, alumnae commitment and giving, and effective proposal writing.
