Looking for proven programs your institution can use to encourage secondary students and teachers to come to your campus and take part in activities related to engineering? Then you need to learn how from this panel. JETS has offered effective pre-college programs for over 50 years and its new programs are attracting many students. All JETS programs seek to reach secondary students, teachers, counselors and parents, especially women and minorities.
Panel members will describe their participation in these three JETS programs from the viewpoints of teacher, student and program director:
TEAMS--a design competition carried out on the campus of the sponsoring institution;
NEAS--a new on-line self-administered version of the engineering interest and aptitude questionnaire
Outreach--a program to provide guidance counselors with up-to-date information on engineering and technology careers.
Questions and answers will follow to enable the audience to take home plans for adding JETS to your campus. |
