Our goal is to make 'Sustaining an adequate outreach program for girls and engineering' attainable for attendees. Many programs, ours included, need proper 'care and feeding' for maintenance. Our programs have three features that encourage monetary sustainability: institutional support, industrial support, and foundation support. Each of these have
advantages, disadvantages, tips and suggestion. Also, proper size of program, age of participants, flexibility, and adult support are discussed.
In addition, we look at other aspects of sustainability: female or minority participants, female or minority engineers, curriculum and relevance, location, etc. An interactive format for attendees is planned, and it will be value-added for all. |
