Paper Title: |
Effective Assessment As A Tool To Develop and Enhance WIE/WISE Programs |
Date & Time: |
06/08/03 10:45 |
Abstract: |
Assessment is a key to developing, reporting and funding Women in Engineering Program activities. It promotes effective programming and provides crucial tools for improving and justifying activities. The problem is that most Program Directors lack the time or the training to do design and implement good assessment. This workshop will introduce the basics of assessment, including discussion of the development of objectives, how to relate assessment instruments to objectives, understanding the different types of assessment, implementing assessment and effective data collection and use. It will also address IRB processes and requirements. Participants will receive pre-work from the four facilitators and will have the opportunity to work on the development of instruments tailored to specific activities for use at their home institutions. |
