Abstract: |
Abstract: In order to achieve equity in academia, one must generate the interest and the support of the culture in power, the current crop of engineering professors, deans and leaders.
DuPont and Purdue University entered into a partnership in 1996 to address biases held by Purdue faculty leaders about women and minorities in engineering.
The workshop will cover the following: Problem statement, Key event(s), Proposed solution, Leadership requirements, Intermediate outcomes, Interim support activities, Current outcomes and program status.
Attendees will have an opportunity to make an assessment of their own campus' readiness to take on such an activity, and key items that need to be in place in order to assess probability of success. |
